Out of the many beaches, I've travelled onto probably Puerto Galera has been the most accessible white sand beach to go to, since it's a bus + boat ride away from Manila. Some weeks ago, my friends and I packed our bags and went to Puerto Galera to celebrate the weekend. We stayed at Mendelluke Suites with a pleasing balcony in front. As a beach enthusiast myself, let me cull a list of things to do on how you can spend a day at the beach without having an experience of slight boredom.

1. Beach Bummin' - Lay on the sand, snap photos, be wacky or simply just play around with your friends. Measure how much uncontrollable happiness you have while hanging around the beach and not thinking of what tomorrow lies ahead.

2. Coconut Shake. - Take refuge from the heat of the sun through a cold and chilly drink of a coconut milkshake, or perhaps any shake that you like. The Philippines has abundance of supply of coconut that it is obligatory for me to drink one of those milkshakes when I am at the beach.

3. Prance around the white sand. - Appreciate the beauty of the beach while prancing around in your bikini, and your must have essentials of sunglasses, slippers, or if you can take the heat of the sand, go barefoot.

4. Disconnect your world from mobile phones - At least, try to put aside your mobile phones. Its not always that you get to wake-up and smell the salty air and walk on powdered sands, right?.

5. Sunset and Blue Skies. - Have an indulging moment with sunset and blue skies, as day turns into night. The transition period in between is what I'm anticipating every time.

6. Don't forget to dance the night away -Well for some beaches, nightlife parties are extremely evident just like in Puerto Galera. Usually here, around 8-9 P.M. people gather in the beach and sit on their towels and wait for the fire/poy dancers to be visibly dancing at the center of the beach. It was an experience for me seeing those different acrobatic moves which god knows I have seen only in circus when I was a kid.

Without any longer, on top of the list is that never forget to infectious smiles. Truly it gives a much lighter feeling and cheerfulness. It's true people in Puerto Galera can be friendly and they will not allow you to leave the island without having the taste of their famous Mindoro Sling.
